Assam: Opposition leaders move SC challenging delimitation method proposed by EC
The poll panel’s draft order on readjusting the extent of 126 assembly and 14 Lok Sabha constituencies in Assam was issued on June 20.
Election Commission of India (ECI) will hold biennial polls to 3 graduate and 2 teachers consitiencies of the Uttar Pradesh legislative council on January 30 .
Tenure of 3 graduate and 2 teachers seats would be ending on January 12 next.
According to the ECI statement here onnThursday candidates will be able to file their nominations papers between January 5 and 12 and from January 13 to 15, papers filled by the candidates will be scrutinized.
January 16 is the last day for withdrawal of nominations.
Voting will be held on January 30, between 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.Counting of votes will be done on all the seats on February 2 from 8 AM.
The seats going to polls are Gorakhpur-Faizabad, Kanpur and Bareilly- Moradabad graduate seats.
The teachers seats are Allahabad-Jhansi and Kanpur.
